Enel Green Power enlists ArcVera, NRG Systems and Harness Energy to provide solar resource assessment services across the United States

NRG Systems will provide its Solar Resource Assessment (SRA) Systems for Enel’s pre-construction measurement campaigns for its growing solar PV project portfolio across all regions of North America. Harness Energy will install, maintain, and decommission the SRA Systems while ArcVera Renewables will provide data monitoring. The collaboration creates an end-to-end solution that ensures the rollout will be scalable and repeatable throughout the project portfolio.

The turnkey systems will capture all relevant meteorological data, including soiling and albedo measurements, for exceptionally accurate annual energy production estimates. The systems integrate with NRG Cloud, a web interface that facilitates remote management of data, troubleshooting, and data logger configuration.

Precise and accurate resource assessment has been foundational to Enel Green Power’s solar siting as we have developed and installed several gigawatts of new capacity over the last several years,” said Conor Branch, Head of Business Development at Enel Green Power North America. “This technology will allow us to continue identifying prime sites in a variety of geographies across North America, enabling us to design efficient projects that contribute to our target of 6.5 gigawatts of new renewable capacity through 2024.”

Unlike competing solar resource offerings, the ArcVera-NRG-Harness collaboration promotes independence in the three main areas of a solar energy assessment – equipment procurement, installation and maintenance, and data analysis. NRG supplies its highly integrated and standardized solar met stations for a repeatable measurement result. Harness Energy provides the installation and ongoing operations, including the maintenance of mission-critical pyranometers, and ArcVera Renewables provides independent technical advisory services, ensuring that the met stations are generating the quality data required to deliver accurate, bankable assessment reports. Each provider focuses on delivering excellence in their respective domains and when these offerings are combined, there are considerable benefits to customers,” said David Simkins, Director of Business Development – Global, ArcVera Renewables.
